The German Chambers of Commerce (AHK) recently relocated its Shanghai office to a prime location in the heart of Jingan District, providing a dynamic platform to support the activities and expansion of German companies in the Chinese market. VIRTUARCH stood out in a competitive bid to take on the interior design and project management roles for the office, with a mission to create a modern workspace that combines functionality with symbolic meaning.

The new 750-square-meter office features an eye-catching elliptical reception area. The reception area includes a unique moss wall that forms the silhouette of a flying Chinese dragon, symbolizing the cooperation between China and Germany.

The office layout is designed with practicality and aesthetics in mind, including private office spaces for the German Delegate and Vice President, a multi-functional conference area, and an open office area that can accommodate up to 66 employees.
