VIRTUARCH AT THE SINO-SWISS ECONOMIC FORUM 2020

In honor of celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and the People’s Republic of China, on November 20, 2020, the “2020 SINO SWISS ECONOMIC FORUM” was held at Beijing Four Seasons Hotel. Themed “Together for A Better Future – Smart & Sustainable”, the forum sponsored by the Embassy of Switzerland and the SwissCham was designed to focus on Swiss excellence in sustainability and innovation.

Swiss Ambassador to China Bernardino Regazzoni emphasized Swiss enterprises’ commitment to sustainable development in China: “They are even generating synergies among themselves here in China to bring out sustainable, innovative and creative solutions to global concerns.”

In a panel focusing on the contribution of Swiss SMEs in China to a smart and sustainable future, Daniel HEUSSER, President and chief architect of VIRTUARCH, shared the expertise of VIRTUARCH to ‘build better futures’: “China is probably the one country where sustainable buildings can be realized at reasonable prices”, he expressed; “With construction prices and living costs raising, sustainable measures have in fact become more affordable and today often have very good payback times. Owners having more than a short-term vision can not only do something for the environment, but effectively also benefit from realizing good quality buildings and from implementing energy-saving measures.”

Peer speakers of the Sino-Swiss Economic Forum 2020 on “Together for A Better Future – Smart & Sustainable” also included Rashid Qureshi, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé GCR; Leon Xie, General Manager of Olympic Business Group Marketing, Alibaba; Henry Huiyao Wang, Founder & President of Center for China & Globalization (CCG) and other key players of the Swiss Business Community in China.
