UFI GREEN: Celebrating a New State-of-the-art Industrial Plant
On May 27, we were thrilled to participate in UFI Group’s celebrations for the inauguration of its seventh industrial plant in China: UFI GREEN. Located in Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing, this state-of-the-art facility underscores UFI’s commitment to green energy and the advancement of new energy vehicle technology. VIRTUARCH is proud to have contributed to the realization of this new cutting-edge factory by providing Architecture Design, Interior Design, Design Management, and Site Inspection services.

The UFI GREEN plant represents an overall investment of 45 million euros. Spanning 42,000 square meters and developed in two phases, the facility integrates cutting-edge production lines and an advanced R&D laboratory center, expected to employ approximately 650 people.Â

During the opening speech, UFI Group Chairman Giorgio Girondi reflected on the strategic significance of this development: “I personally set foot on the Chinese Mainland first in 1982 with the vision to establish a new business for Filtration in China. Forty-two years later, China represents the first automotive market in the world and is leading the electrification revolution on a worldwide level”.

The architectural concept for UFI GREEN seamlessly blends office, laboratory, and production functions, optimizing space and promoting collaboration. VIRTUARCH has also incorporated energy-saving solutions to enhance the building’s overall efficiency. For instance, the office area features large glass curtain walls that flood the interior with natural light, complemented by innovative green technologies like blue sunshade louvers that effectively regulate heat gain. These elements not only improve energy efficiency but also enhance the building’s aesthetic appeal and reinforce UFI’s corporate identity.

At the center of the open office space, a modern staircase in wooden tones and with blue, white, and green pillows, echoing UFI GREEN’s brand colors, connects the open presentation room with the offices and showroom on the third floor, enhancing communication and free movement within the plant.

Furthermore, VIRTUARCH thoughtfully incorporated green plant walls throughout the plant and designed a rooftop garden to enhance employee wellbeing and provide a relaxing atmosphere.
